The light of the bright sky shown through your window onto your face making it's tone seem to glow. Your hair was sprawled out on the pillow, but right now you didn't care; you would enjoy the weightless effect of the soft pillows and blankets hoping it would make you sink back into the dream world. The fresh scent of washed cloth was a true blessing to you; you usually would sleep in a tree or maybe in an abandoned house if you were lucky. Now, you had the privilege of enjoying this feeling every day, and you wanted to take in every second. You let out a happy sigh as you rolled from your side to your back. You shot up. That sigh actually had a vibration to it, did that sound really come from you? You tested it again saying "aaah", and once again your vocal cords were working perfectly! You ran to the mirror and felt your throat as you tried different tones. There came more beautiful sounds making the deathly quiet room have some life again. Confusion overcame your whole being.

"What the-" you gasped cutting yourself off, and realized that this wasn't even your voice! As you were female, it sounded as such, but it had a slight accent to it unlike before. What sorcery was this? ...wait a second..... sorcery. Memories of yesterday practically shot you in the head, Loki had used the spell. This made dread fill your core. As wonderful as it was to have a voice, dark magic always has its drawbacks; and you didn't even know what it was or how bad it could be. You ran out of your room faster than you'd ever run before. If this spell was as dark as you thought, you knew it would be complicated and you certainly couldn't undo it by yourself. You heard your bare feet slap on the shiny palace floors squeaking a bit with every sharp turn. You saw the double doors of the library ahead of you making you run faster. 

"Loki?" You called out trying to catch your breath. The heavy doors swung open to reveal Loki sitting on the reflective ground. Your breath hitched. Books and papers were scattered everywhere like he had been in the center of a tornado. His sagging back was facing you and his shoulders slumped. His legs were awkwardly at his sides, as if he had once been on his knees but lost the strength to keep himself up; the spell had drained all of his energy. He didn't even have the endurance to keep up his usual hue, his limp azure hands made the ground around him slowly cover with frost.

"LOKI!!" You exclaimed running to help him. You hoped he hadn't gotten hurt; you would never be able to forgive yourself if he did. A book was shoved in your face before you could touch him making you jolt back. The top of the page was frozen solid from his blue fingers. He seemed really insistent, so you took the book and read the passage. According to the spell, the only way to give a voice, was to take one. Anger boiled in you. 

"Who's voice did you take?" You said sternly. Slowly; he turned his head to look at you, making your anger immediately blow away. His teary red eyes and a sad smile broke your heart as you realized... 

He couldn't respond.
