(Potential Feels Warning!)

She was finally let in to see him. It took one look for her to gasp. His neck was chained to the wall and his wrists were shackled. His mouth had been sewn together and doesn't seem to have moved since. His eyes were covered by a black cloth to ensure they didn't see escape; cuts lined parts of his arms and face. She ran to him the second she got over her shock. Her footsteps seemed to catch his attention and his breathing intensified. Loki flinched as Sigyn quickly hugged his head to her neck but he soon calmed his breathing at her gentle touch. She started asking him moronic questions like "are you alright?" and "what did they do to you?" which only made him slowly break down in front of her. Of course, he couldn't respond, so he nuzzled into her neck like a frightened kitten. She got rid of the blindfold alarming the guards.
"You cannot do that lady Sigyn!", one said. Sigyn whipped him a glare that could turn him to dust.
"What is the point of seeing him if he cannot see me!?" She cradled his head protectively.
"It was there for a reason!"
"Any reason you give me will never be sufficient enough!"
"Please lady Sigyn, we do not want to be punished by Odin." The other pleaded.
"If you are punished from a simple cloth, then your jobs are not worth keeping!" And she ended the argument with that. Loki pulled back from the hug and looked at her with tears in his eyes. He pulled up his cuffed, scarred hands and held her face; wiping away a tear she hadn't realized had fallen. She leaned into his calloused hand, hardened from his knife throwing training. A smile faintly glowed on his stitched lips; the blood on them seemed to have hardened and the wounds that the strands created, already healed. She stared at them. As his hands grew tired and sunk to the ground, Sigyn felt she needed to do something to kiss those lips once again.
"If you cannot speak, I shall speak for you." She concluded. She didn't know who she'd talk to, but she'd talk to someone. Loki's eyes widened and he shook his head.
"I may not know your land very well, but I will do anything to free you. You don't deserve to be hindered like this." It confused her when his head tilted down. She could feel his sudden strong guilt that made his shoulders slump further. The words "I do" transferred from his mind to hers. She felt his sorrow and the way he felt as if he didn't deserve her kindness. She faintly shook her head. Sigyn lifted his cuffed hands and supported herself against his chest, laying his arms back down atop her abdomen. Sitting on his lap didn't harm him in the least; to him, she was very light. She leaned her head back and tipped up to kiss his cheek. He rested his head on Sigyn's when she settled; his eyes still glazed with guilt. She got comfortable and closed her eyes before she spoke again.
"No one deserves this." His head shifted at this. She swallowed. "Punishment is too harsh here. Whatever you did, if you did anything at all, it couldn't be bad enough to deserve this."
His eyes shut in denial. A somber, "You'd be surprised", was all she got from his troubled mind. She shifted her legs off the side of his, and looked at his tsavorite eyes with her own aquamarine ones.
"The fact that you say that shows you are too good to be treated this way. A guilty man doesn't deserve the same punishment as the man that brags about their misdoings." She assured. Loki became bitter; "tell that to Odin" was the message she received along with a scowl directed at the ground. She huffed at his stubbornness and stood up. Sigyn understood he wasn't being serious about what he said, but as she thought about the idea, it didn't sound too bad. Her face clearly showed her determination, and Loki could feel it rising; his eyes shot up in fear.
"I will"
"No!" Loki mumbled. He flinched and groaned. It sounded painful, and muffled, and one of the tighter strings tugged at the right side of his lip making it bleed, but he spoke. She rushed to his side and used her robe to dab the blood on his lip; she was always so gentle with him. He took her other hand between both of his and silently begged for her to stay. She just shook her head and kept the cut covered. After the tear had healed, she finally got up to talk to Odin, but she was pulled by his grasp.
"Loki, I must go." She pulled back but his grip got tighter; his eyes pleading. She pulled harder but to no avail, she wasn't going anywhere. The two guards from before noticed the disturbance and ran to the cell.
"Lady Sigy-!"
"You. Back. Away." She demanded. Seeing the storm rising in her eyes, they did so, but remained more alert in case of any trouble.
"He will let go of his own accord." She turned to him and softened her gaze.
"Loki, he cannot harm me for defending the one I love." She stated. Loki was unsure, so she went on.
"Even if he did, he would be in the wrong; I have committed no crimes." Loki's thoughts flowed into her mind again, "that is exactly why you shouldn't go to him! You don't deserve the punishment he'll give you!".
"He will not give me a punishment! He... can't. His opinion does not define right and wrong." Loki took a deep breath through the nose, "but that won't stop him from hurting you". There was a short silence. Sigyn sighed and knelt in front of him. She took his cheeks into her palms, and laid a kiss on his forehead. His eyes were a storm of emotion; guilt, fear, tiredness, love, protectiveness, anger, helplessness, pain, and so many more indescribable feelings.
"Loki...", she started, "you must have more faith in me." Loki looked down her expression to the smallest detail; often switching his gaze between her two blue irises as if he couldn't decide which one to observe more closely. He sat there decisively for the longest time. Sigyn truly hoped his stubborn side wouldn't overcome his reason. His eyes drifted closed and his head bent down, like he fell asleep in her hands, then he released a slow breath. She got worried for a second until she saw him lightly nod. Relieved, she wrapped her arms around him pulling his chained arms over her back. He awkwardly hugged her with the little unrestricted movement he had; then he finally had to let her go. She walked away with sorrow until she reached the guards.
"The next time I see him, and his beautiful eyes are covered, I will have yours damaged." She said darkly. The guards were alarmed, they've heard she wouldn't even say something rude let alone threaten someone; but apparently, if someone hurts her husband, she gets quite defensive. They looked at Loki who only raised an eyebrow in amusement. Sigyn then walked away to talk to Odin.

She didn't know what she was going to say, but she wouldn't stay silent any longer. The double doors opened to the overwhelming throne room. Sigyn felt like a tiny speck compared to the tall columns and expansive glossy decorative floors. Sigyn remembered those times where she had to go with Loki to several Asgardian celebrations in this very room; she always avoided Odin because he looked so important and experienced up on his throne. The room was always highly decorated with curtains, so she would always have a place to hide. Now, it felt so barren and open that she felt vulnerable to anything. There were two double doors on either side of the throne that she wished she could have taken just so she didn't have to walk so long in anticipation. The throne itself looked like a tower with a bent open horseshoe atop it, a shell-like shape curved around the seat which was tiny in comparison; all made with intricate designs, all made of gold. She then thought about how long it must have taken to make and clean the throne than about who was actually sitting there. It distracted her from her fear a little while as she made her way to the other side of the room, at least, until she approached the end of her walk. The way the light shined behind him almost made him into a silhouette of pure intimidation. She stopped at the base of the steps, her mind was blank, she swallowed, her face became warm with embarrassment, her breath grew short, she didn't even think through what she was going to say. With each second, the situation became more and more awkward.
"You came here for a reason, Lady Sigyn; will you not speak?" Odin asked deciding to start conversation. Sigyn nodded and tried to finally open her mouth; of course, the smallest amount she could possibly have said was the only thing that came out.
"L-Loki..." She barely shuddered out. His eyes swirled with disgust.
"So, you've come here to complain to me about his punishment, hm? Well, I can easily say my dear, that there is nothing you can say to change what has happened, nor change what will become of him."
"What will become of him!?" She suddenly blurted. His grey eyebrows lifted in slight alarm at her outburst before settling on answering her question.
"He will be sent to a mountain on Midgard, there he will stay. A serpent will accompany him to drop its venom upon his head; no one else shall follow-"
"I SHALL FOLLOW!"
"MIND YOUR TONE YOU GLORIFIED CONCUBINE!" Odin snapped standing up from his throne. Sigyn's mouth widened at his insult, then she set her jaw. All the fear of him was replaced with a defensive wall, laced with rage.
"...you're an evil man." She said factually. The air was thick with tension. Odin chuckled to himself.
""Evil"? Why, you mistake me for your husband." Odin dared to say.
"He is NOT evil. He is just confused, and hurt; mainly by the one he once called "father"."
"Watch where you direct this conversation, girl. You have no authority to talk to me like this."
"Talking is not a crime dear Odin, and I may speak if I wish." She spat. The fact that she was putting herself in such a dangerous position was wiped from her mind; the only thing left, the memory of the one she loved hindered of both speech and movement.
"Fine." Odin said indignantly, Sigyn's eyes squinted with suspicion, "speak as much as you wish, it will not change a thing." Odin sat back in his throne waiting for the lecture that he deemed meaningless. Sigyn took a deep breath.
"I want to go with him. I do not have the strength to free him, nor can I convince you to; so it will not matter if I am in his company. I cannot even use magic, for I am powerless. All I request is that I can be with him, and take one bowl from the palace kitchen with me." Sigyn explained.
"And why would that be?" He played along.
"I want to catch the serpent's venom, before it harms my husband further." She replied. Odin was amused by the simplicity of her request. He could not punish her for the way she disrespected him, but now that he thought about it, he wouldn't need to; the very thing she asked for was a punishment in and of itself. It might even be a better idea to let her do what she wanted just so she'll learn her lesson. Suddenly, he fully realized what she was willing to do. She had put herself in in danger by asking in the first place, just to have a chance to be there for the man Odin raised as his own for so many years, and comfort him until she undoubtably starved and died from it. The amount of fidelity shown by this one girl impressed Odin.
"I did not think you would ask for so little; for, as you understand, any other in your place would ask for the impossibility of his release."
"I do wish for his release, but it is only impossible because you make it that way. I have to adjust." She stated. Odin hummed in understanding at this.
"Well, I see no problem with you staying at his side, but you do realize what you are putting yourself through in order to do so?"
"Yes." There was no hesitation.
"Very well. You shall be sent off to Midgard along with your husband, and you will stay by his side as he fulfills his punishment." Odin's staff lifted then hit the ground with a large boom.
"Thank you, King Odin." She said before she walked away.
"Yes yes, you're quite welcome, but Sigyn?" She stopped at the side door, "If you survive..." His words were lost a moment.
"...For your loyalty and kindness to my son, I dub you, The goddess of Fidelity." His staff hit the ground yet again.
"All father, I wish not to become a god, I don't believe anyone can. But I do wish to be a supporter, and for now... that's the only thing I can be." She walked away and closed the double doors to the right of the throne. Odin chuckled, for what Sigyn didn't know, was that the moment his staff hit the ground, her body became immortal.
This is my story of Sigyn's perspective in Loki's punishment in Norse mythology that takes place before Ragnarok. Sorry for the feels if I gave you any!
